US Import Taxes & Duties (DDU Shipments)Updated 2 days ago

If you’re ordering from the US, your order may be subject to US import taxes and duties. This is completely normal when ordering goods from outside the United States.

All US orders are shipped Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU).

This means:

  • Import duties and taxes are not included at checkout

  • These charges are set and collected by the US government, not Kecks

  • Payment is required before your parcel can enter the US and be delivered


We ship US orders using DPD, who then pass the parcel to Mark 3 International (MK3i) to handle US customs clearance.


Who Contacts You for Payment?


Once your parcel is on its way, Mark 3 International will contact you directly using the email address you entered at checkout.


You’ll receive:

  • An email explaining the charges

  • A secure payment link

  • Instructions on how to pay quickly to avoid delays

Step-by-Step: What Happens to Your Order 📦


  1. You place your order

  2. We pack and ship it from the UK

  3. Mark 3 emails you to confirm a duty payment is required

  4. They calculate the exact US duty & taxes

  5. You receive a secure payment link

  6. Your parcel is held briefly until payment is made

  7. Mark 3 clears customs on your behalf

  8. Your order is released and delivered to you


Paying promptly keeps everything moving smoothly.


Important Things to Know


  • Import taxes are not charged by Kecks

  • We do not receive any part of the duty payment

  • The charges are set by US customs regulations

  • This applies to all international brands shipping to the US, not just us


What If I Don’t Pay the Import Tax?


If the duty is not paid:

  • The parcel will not be delivered

  • It will eventually be returned to us

  • This return process can take several weeks

  • Original shipping costs are not refundable

  • You may need to pay re-shipping costs if the order is sent again


Didn’t Receive the Email?

  • Spam / junk folders

  • Promotions tab (Gmail)

  • That the email address entered at checkout is correct
